ASA Georgia has been instrumental in advocating for specialty contractors’ payment rights legislatively.  Introducing and passing the “Specialty Contractor’s Bill of Rights,” which set payment terms for private and public construction.  Giving specialty contractors more protection under the law.

ASA Georgia was also instrumental in streamlining the lien laws in Georgia.  Fine tuning the process and procedures so that perfecting a lien was more manageable.  In line with this, ASA Georgia provided for legislation that allowed subcontractors to go directly to the owner to perfect a lien.

Most importantly, the advocacy that ASA Georgia promotes is not only good for specialty contractors but helps the construction industry as a whole and insures for smoother completion of construction projects in Georgia.
